Waiting in the car in the Trader Joe's parking lot.
I didn't have a lot of paper so it was a little bit of a nail-biter: would I run out of paper and have to sit there with nothing to draw on? I tried to pace myself by doing longer drawings, but I got bored drawing cars and I had to take the opportunity to draw a couple of people. It's not something I'm familiar or comfortable with, but thanks to you I'm trying out new stuff all the time.
This guy was putting bags in his car. Why'd he have to get the job done in 2 seconds? Guess he didn't know he was my muse.
I love how I captured that woman's rear end (top right). The rounder people definitely seem easier to draw. I was rooting for more round bodies.

In traffic again on Friday, tried out both the Pilot V5 and the Sharpie Retractable. I preferred the thinner, more delicate line from the Pilot. I wasn't able to get as much detail with the Sharpie which made me draw the vehicles bigger, and I think I lost a lot of the quirkiness I got from the Pilot pen. I think the Sharpie ones look a little boring in comparison. I outlined the Sharpie car with a Medium Sharpie and I don't know if that improved it at all.

I can see the merits of using a waterproof pen, and I do love the Sharpie, but I am so in love with the Pilot V5. As long as it never gets wet we can have a long, loving life together. And I sent Pilot an email asking if they have any water resistant (or better yet, waterproof) pens.

'silly flowers' --trying out another Pilot V5 rollerball pen. I thought I'd read the new ones were water resistant, clearly that's not the case. Does anyone have any pen recommendations?
'lines and lines' Pilot V5 makes delightful lines. I could probably draw lines with it all day. Or at least for an hour or two.

Loved the lines I was getting with the Pilot Rollerball and then I added watercolor. I won't do that again unless I want a big grey puddle. Otherwise I was just creating little vignettes. I'm enjoying the Prismacolor pencils with watercolor.
