Linda 147-150

my mom requested that i draw a riding vacuum cleaner for a father's day card. these are my preliminary doodles. [she asked that it be 'worthy of framing', and i'm not sure that i can handle that kind of pressure.]

was thinking too hard about off-paper doodles, came upon my hot sauce in the fridge. now my hands and kitchen reek of chilies and garlic, but i've got an abstract and 5 flower chili doodles.

Kinda psyched myself out of hand sewing once I declared how much I liked it (true, I like it, but for some reason my enthusiasm plummeted.) I did a little experimentation with the sewing machine though, and though the photos are [again] not like I'd expect ...er, because they're 3D? Well, yes...
anyway, a couple rough experiments...

i'm getting to know the various traffic lights and signs along my daily travels.

waiting for my deposit at the drive-up teller. a coup! verizon truck parked right in front of me. without my 'doodle off' experience i'd never have the ability to capture this truck so quickly. the doodle off has improved my drawing skills many times over-- thanks for all the encouragement!

i'd forgotten something i used to really enjoy-- doodling with a needle and thread.
it's too bad that it doesn't scan very well. looks a lot better in person.

i think the industrial designer in me is trying to be heard-- i'm doing more and more doodles that i probably should have been doing when i was in school. b/c they're of no use to me now! well, just getting my inner voice out...
